As part of efforts of the Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, to rid the state of heinous activities of hoodlums and armed robbers, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) recently apprehended three suspects.
Two of the suspected armed robbers were arrested at about 10:50pm July 31, around the National Arts Theatre, in Iganmu area of the the state.

The RRS mobile team responded to information obtained through victims of two separate attacks by robbers at Ijora-Olopa, and in a swift, nabbed the notorious kingpins.
Speaking on the arrest, the commander of the Lagos RRS, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olatunji
Disu said: “Two suspects Murtala Saka, 22, and Bashiru Muibi, 26, have been charged to court with
immediate effect.”
In a related development, the RRS also arrested a member of an alleged notorious syndicate whose gang allegedly terrorized the Mile 2 area of the metropolis.
ACP Disu said the suspect was sighted attacking his victim, after breaking one of the glasses at the side of his vehicle, while in traffic along the Mile 2 road on July 28, 2015. “The suspect, Ugochukwu Otuneme, 33, is a member of an in-traffic robbery syndicate, specialized in snatching and robbing innocent residents of their belongings during peak of grid-lock around the Mile 2 area in the state,” he said.
Ugochukwu confessed to the crime and added that he perpetrated the crimes with a member of his gang, who is now at large.
“I came to Lagos in 2010. Before I joined this robbery gang, I was a bus conductor where I met one of the gang members who introduced me to his colleagues in the robbery. It was devil who pushed me into this act,” he confessed.
ACP Disu advised drivers to be vigilant while driving in traffic, urging them to always wind up their car glasses. He added that residents should report any suspicious movement and criminality in their neighbourhood to the police, promising that necessary actions will be taken.
